In case you hadn’t noticed, winter fashion is already filling the stores and more brands are highlighting the clothes you need in your collection for the fall-winter period. But what are the themes amongst these collections, the trends?
Corduroy is back
For most guys, corduroy is a material that maybe you encountered as a kid in those cute dungarees or associate with college professors, maybe famous films featuring Dustin Hoffman. And that’s true but it is also coming in as a big trend for 2017-18. However, it is more grown up than the casual, baggy styles of the past with an emphasis on tailoring and well-fitting trousers and jackets that emphasize your physique in a good way. Or go for a more relaxed weekend style of pants and pair them with a leather jacket.
Colors of the season
If you search for jackets on a website such as https://www.lyst.com.au, you will quickly notice two colors that stand out from the sea of neutrals and dark shades – camel and moss green. Camel is particularly popular for outerwear and jackets and can also be mixed with similar shades throughout the outfit for a harmonious look. Moss green is a darker version of the Pantone Color of the Year, Greenery, and is a rich shade that works with all skin tones.
The last of the colors that are on-trend for autumn and winter isn’t one that everyone will buy into – bright orange. You can go for the full orange outfit but most guys are using it as an accent color – an orange tee under a denim jacket or a deep orange jacket over a dark top.
Top styles
Roll necks can look very flattering on some guys and if you don’t mind the close-to-the-neck style, then go with it. Roll necks are even quite practical for the colder months of the year and Merino wool is a popular option for them that keeps you a little warmer. Go for the delicate looks with a suit or the chunky styles for the casual weekend wear.
Silk shirts are another returning style for this fall-winter period but gone are the pajamas style – these are modern, grown up silk shirts. One example is the deep V-neck style shirt based on a baseball look that sits perfectly under a suit. But the nightwear styles are still out there if that’s your kind of thing as well as seriously patterned versions that you make certain you stand out in a crowd!
