Topic: McConnell’s Whisky
It’s March, and everyone has St Patrick’s day on their mind. It is a day to forget what is going on in the world and just enjoy a great drink with friends. I have the perfect whisky to bring the inner Irish out of you. McConnell’s is straight from Ireland with Irish love inside every bottle. McConnell started in 1776, but in 1909 there was a massive fire, and they lost over $500,000 gallons of whiskey. But do not cry over wasted whisky. They were able to rebuild, but with prohibition just around the corner, that is when the trouble started. Just like most whisky and other spirits, prohibition was the downfall of many spirit makers. Many companies were forced to close their doors during this time. McConnell’s whisky was recently resurrected with the same techniques with the same taste and perfection in every bottle. McConnell’s is just as strong as it was over 200 years ago.
When taking your first sip of McConnell’s fine Whisky, you will notice the familiar aroma of fresh-milled grains and malted barley. It also has a savory character that isn’t offensive with some rough edges of ethyl alcohol aroma. Once you allow your palate to soak up the flavors you start to notice the flavors sweetens up nicely, with vanilla, butterscotch and earthy fruits followed by white pepper. With a price tag around $35 McConnell’s is the perfect whisky for anyone.
