I think the best way to start the holidays off is to make sure that you get into the right Christmas spirit. That is why I wanted to start my guide with my list of recommended spirits…
Macallan 12 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky– I will say that, personally, I do not care for scotch that is aged in sherry or port casks, but I have a lot of friends that love it, so while this would not be a gift I would particularly enjoy, it is a gift I would certainly buy for some of my scotch drinking buddies. I think with the dry fruity notes and sherry taste that comes with this 12-year scotch, anyone who enjoys these scotch styles would appreciate this fine bottle underneath their tree.
Bulleit Bourbon Aged 10-Years – It is no secret by now, but Bulleit Bourbon is one of my top 3 bourbon distillers. With a hint of sweetness, but nothing near what the Canadian Whiskeys have, this bourbon is the perfect balance of sweet, spice, and oak. At a price point of mid $40s, give or take, this bottle of bourbon is perfect for any bourbon lover and you do not have to break the bank to get them a premium tasting whiskey.
Irish Whiskey Lovers – While I am not a big Irish Whiskey fan, the Egan Vintage Grain is a nice change of pace from the bourbon and scotch that I normally drink. I find this to a have a little softer/smoother, yet gentle, taste than most bourbons that I like and it has just a hint of sweetness to kick it up a notch.
A Smooth Rum for Egg Nog – The Kirk and Sweeney 12 year is aged and french oak barrels and you can tell. This rum is smooth with notes of vanilla and dark smoke and a delight to drink for any occasion. At a price point between $30 and $40, this bottle is significantly underpriced for the quality of drink you get here.
FACUNDO Rum Collection for experience-seeker and spirits connoisseur alike – The FACUNDO NEO white rum and FACUNDO EXIMO dark rum are sipping rums sourced from the Bacardi family’s private reserves. Like most, the rum is produced in Latin America and the Caribbean; aged in the Bahamas, blended in Puerto Rico, and hand-bottled in Mexico.
The late Don Facundo Bacardi Massó would certainly appreciate their attempt to educate drinkers alike about what makes rum so special. Miami’s Café La Trova is one of the first of the FACUNDO rum mixology classes ran by Ken Navarro
Our/Vodka by Our/Los Angeles – Founder Pernod Ricard is a spirits visionary with a creative concept to become the first vodka brand to have both a global and local identity. That sounds confusing but it’s not. I sampled Our/Vodka produced in Los Angeles and now the sixth micro-distillery in the Our/Vodka brand. Although Our/Vodka is the same recipe worldwide, each of the six micro-distilleries, including the Los Angeles location, uses as many ingredients sourced locally as possible. How does it taste? I’d say smooth with a small grain and fruity note.
McClure’s Bloody Mary mix – Bloody Mary’s have evolved from dry powder mixes at home or at the bar to become a craft cocktail at brunch. What to do when you cook up a storm at home for friends? Ever since McClure sent over a few bottles of their mild and spicy bottles of bloody mary mix (the real stuff), it’s been my go-to Sunday afternoon adult beverage. It tastes bolder and more fresh.
Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Limited Edition Bottle – As the 40th anniversary of the Cuervo Classic Surf Competition Jose Cuervo has come out with a special edition. Cuervo is known for releasing special edition bottles and this is no different making it an ideal gift for any watersport enthusiast, surfer, or beach bum in your life. This bottle celebrates the 1978 Cuervo Classic with a vintage design full similar bold colors that resemble the competition’s logo.
The original tequila brand and now the oldest tequila in surfing. Today we’re celebrating 40 years of Cuervo participating in the sport, dating back to the 1978 Cuervo Classic on Hawaii’s North Shore. Limited Edition bottles are now available. pic.twitter.com/KRxIkCXBMB

Public Radio 2016 Vintage – The Public Radio wine is produced by the Grounded Wine Co. family produced from grapes grown in Paso Robles. This is a red blend of 65% Grenache, 27% Syrah, and 9% Petite Sirah. I have recently become particularly fond of many blends with Syrah grapes, as many of them seem to have a little bit of a spice not to them, and this is no exception.
A Super Smokey Cab – Cigar Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon is not for the occasional wine drinker. This wine is delicious with its smokey flavor imparted from the barrel aging process. If you are a fan of whiskey and cabs, this is a great wine to try.
Waerator Instant Wine Aerator – Since we are talking about wine, it is only natural to make sure we are drinking the best tasting wine. Any wine connoisseur knows that a straight pour from a bottle to a glass just prior to drinking does not yield the most flavorful tastes for any wine. The one thing that is missing from that scenario is making sure your wine is properly aerated to bring out all of those subtle flavors. That is why I felt the need to add this simple to use and almost must have instant wine aerator to this list.
Every Man I Know Loves Gadgets and Technology. Here are some Christmas Gifts He Can Appreciate.
Candi Wireless Charging Station – I do not know about the rest of the world out there, but I know that for me, those darn phone charging cords do not last more than 2 months. They bend, tear, or just up and quit working for me. That is why I am adding the Candi Wireless Charging Station to my list. This gadget is a no-brainer for anyone and perfect if you cannot figure out anything else to give.
Does He Smell Good? Or Look Good?
Virtu by Vince Camuto – Ever since I started wearing Vince Camuto Virtu Eau De Toilette ($80/3.4oz) I can’t stop sniffing my wrists. It’s just that bold and aromatic. I don’t wear it for the compliments but they do happen frequently by men and women alike. Smartly dressed and style conscious people recognize a good scent when they smell it. I look at this more of a fall cologne and suggest you read up on the notes ranging from Haitian Vetiver to Indian Sandalwood.
20 Categories On This List Would Just Be Ridiculous, So I Added A Catch-All, This Is The Rest Of The Cool Christmas Gifts I Thought You Should Consider.
Complete Knife Making Kit – If you have a DIYer that loves knives in your life, then this is the gift for them. Indy Hammered Knives are super cool knives and this particular Knife making kit comes complete with a blade, book matched scales, pre-sanded wood handles that you can cut to whatever design you like, brass pins, etc…
Awesome Wood Watches – I recently came across a company called TreeHut and they sell watches made out of wood. I thought it was a little different but decided I would check it out. The day I received the watch, I just had to wear it, it was one of the coolest watches that I have ever seen, and it is super light so you can hardly even tell you are wearing it.
Man Crates – Man Crates is one of the coolest gift boxes I have seen to date. If you give this as a gift, there is no way for the recipient to know what is in the box and the great thing is, these guys have a lot of crates to chose from, depending on what your man likes. I would have to say, outside of the contents of the box, the look of this thing alone is worth the gift, not to mention the little crowbar you get with it so that you can pry the top off this thing to get to the goodies inside.
Sentry Shield Bulletproof Inserts – If your husband, boyfriend, or brother is that guy that carries a concealed weapon and has to sit facing the entrance to the restaurant, just in case some crazy person would decide to come in and shoot the place up, then I am positive they would appreciate this bulletproof gift that can carry in their backpack or shoulder bag. Let’s be honest, if they think someone is going to come in shooting, they would certainly appreciate you making sure they are protected so that they can return fire, even after they have been shot at.
Boody Eco Wear – Who knew that bamboo fabric could feel this soft. Boody‘s thermoregulating socks, tops, and underwear for men has made a point of using viscose derived from bamboo to give off the soft touch. The issue with most clothing for men this soft is that is sticks to your body which unfortunately makes it difficult to wear in public when the soft fabric highlights your nipples. Boody is not relegated to only sleepwear because their underwear, socks, and tees are do not bunch up, pinch, or roll.
Not everything we suggest will make a great gift because some are meant as stocking stuffers or what we can call honorable mention. We think these are all solid items but let’s be honest, you should not gift him socks and call it a day.
Socks Are Perfect For Stocking Stuffers – I am a fan of socks that look good and feel good, I also want them to last. Sock It To Me from the LUXE Collection has a great range of socks from fashionable to fun and are made out of Egyptian Cotton, which makes them soft and comfortable to wear.
Chef’s Cut Real Jerky – We would be thrilled if we were gifted a load of jerky for Christmas instead of what most friends and family will likely gift us. Chef’s Cut Real Jerky is on our radar after trying their premium cuts of chicken, turkey, pork, and beef smothered and dried in real marinades in an array of culinary-forward flavors like Korean Barbecue, Chipotle Cracked Pepper and Sriracha, among others.
Ozone Design – The Art of Socks – Not every man has style or adds pizazz to his outfit. Sometimes Miami Chic is the way to dress and Ozone Design‘s eclectic styles are a fine choice. We suggest the plaid and striped socks specifically. One piece of advice for your sock game. If you dress poorly the socks from Ozone are loud enough to make your outfit look even worse. But if you do dress well, the art of socks is like a cherry on top for those men ready to up their sock game.
