Can You Change Your Life In As Little As Twelve Months

One year, twelve months. The time it takes the earth to rotate around the sun. It’s a good chunk of time to be able to set some goals… and smash them. But you might be wondering how much can you really do in this space of time, is it long enough to genuinely change your life for the better? The answer to that is yes, definitely! Perhaps you’re in a rut, are unhappy and want to make a change. Maybe you just want to make your life as good as it can be. Either way, here are some of the ways you can turn your life around, and look back in twelve months time and be so glad that you started.

Improve Your Health

Within the space of a year, it’s possible to totally transform your health. So if you’re feeling unwell, sluggish, perhaps you’re carrying some extra weight and all round feel unhappy and unhealthy- by this time next year you could feel like a different person. If you have a lot of weight to lose, meal replacement diets allow you to safely lose a stone a month. They contain all of the vitamins and minerals you need, and put your body into a state called ‘ketosis.’ This is perfectly natural and healthy, and just means that instead of burning carbohydrates for fuel, your body burns it’s own excess fat supplies. People have gone on to lose ten to twelve stone in a year doing this, so if you have some weight to shift and are feeling hopeless about it then it could be one to try. Hitting the gym or signing up to a sport you enjoy will allow you to build a foundation level of fitness. Do you find yourself feeling tired just walking to work, or out of breath climbing a flight of stairs? This can be embarrassing and extremely tiring, but just a few months of exercise will have you feeling like a different person. If you’re going to the gym, start on the lowest resistance and build your way up. You will be surprised at just how quickly you can build fitness, most people report feeling a difference after just four sessions. Once you can comfortably exercise at a good pace for an hour, you can start really tweaking things and working hard. Start setting yourself challenges, and sculpting your body to look how you want. There’s nothing more freeing than being able to move around easily without pain or getting out of breath easily. Improve your health and you set yourself up to live a long and healthy life.

Change Your Career

We spend in excess of forty hours a week working, and so if you don’t enjoy your job then you’re never going to have a happy life. The thought of changing careers can seem daunting, and most people are put off having to go back to university or spend years studying or training again. However there are ways you can study and graduate within a year, take the online RN to BSN program for example. Within twelve months you could be graduated and ready to apply for nursing jobs if that was the field you were looking to go into. There are tonnes of online courses these days meaning you could study or train in your spare time, whether it’s business, photography, psychology or more- within twelve months you could be well on your way to a better position.

Find a Partner or Have a Better Relationship

Maybe you’ve been a bachelor for many years, and have resigned yourself to the single life. Or perhaps you’re married but things seem to have lost their spark and you’re unsure where things are going. It might seem like these things are out of your control, but there’s plenty you can do which would set you up for a much brighter and more fulfilled future. If you’re single, really make the effort to get yourself out there. Sign up to online dating, go speed dating and don’t decline when friends try to set you up with people they know. It can seem scary but you might find your perfect match and it will all be worth it. If your relationship is on the rocks, you could book some relationship counselling, or really just start making an effort and see if things improve. If you try and they still don’t work out, you can move on knowing it wasn’t meant to be. The people we have in our lives make a huge difference to them, and so you want to have the right ones around you. Within a year, you could be in a much happier and more fulfilling relationship if you make an effort to do so.
