You’re Sick of Hearing About the Game

Obviously, there’s going to be a point at which you like to hear all the latest news about the game and how it will affect your experiences. However, at the opposite end of the spectrum, there will come the point where you’re just sick to death of hearing about basketball and all the different teams.

When that happens, you’re going to want to make sure that whatever you do, you try and figure out why you’re so bothered by the game. Is it because it’s everywhere you go? Is it because a coworker is obnoxious about it? Whatever the reason, you got to find it and put a stop to it.

It’s Causing Arguments

Now look, it’s just basketball. We get that it can be a lot for some people, but for most, it’s just a game. You need to stop and think about that when you’re in the middle of a row with a guy from IT over last night’s game.

Arguments are somewhat common when it comes to these types of things, but at the same time, there is an element of accepting that you have to take a step back and calm down. It’s not always easy, but you need to make sure that whenever you start to see arguments and fights emerging, you calm down, breathe for a moment and defuse the situation. No one wants to fall out over sports – that’s lame.

You’re Gambling Heavily

Yes, gambling. It really does help to accentuate the experience of playing a game or watching one. People gamble all the time, about everything. If it exists, there is usually a way to put some money on the outcome.

But here’s the thing. Gambling is not always good. There are definitely moments where gambling can become a serious problem that can destroy the lives of many. You might think that you have your gambling habits under control. For a bit, you might. But eventually, you make one bet too many, and it will spiral from there.

If you’re gambling too heavily and spending money you don’t really have; you need to take a step back and appreciate that it’s time to take some time out from basketball. Always practice bankroll management. Remember, no game is worth investing your financial security. It never will be. Always gamble responsibly, and seek help if you think you’re having a problem.

Your Work is Suffering

To be honest, work sucks. No one wants to go and sit at a desk and do a menial task all day for a yearly salary so they can live in a house and continue to have a very normal lifestyle. But, we have to do it, so you might as well make the most out of it. Now we understand that March Madness can be a very exciting time for people, and they want to be able to keep up with all the matches, read the competitive analyses, and make sure they understand what’s going on in the tournament.

But if your work is starting to suffer as a result of March Madness, and you routinely miss meetings and deadlines to try and watch the games and keep up, that’s a sign that your experiences are not a happy one. March Madness comes every year. So, getting fired because you haven’t been paying attention to the deadline is because you’re trying to watch the game sneakily at your desk is just not very sensible. Remember that life and adult responsibilities come first. If needs be, you can always watch the game when you record it later on.

So, in conclusion, these are just a few of the indicators that you should look out for when you’re not having the best match Madness experience, because they may indicate what the problem is. Obviously, you want to make sure that you have the best possible time and that you enjoy the game, and the atmosphere, and the community which is built for the season. However, not everyone has a pleasant experience. There are lots of different things to come and ruin the whole thing for you, and lead you into some very destructive habits. Sometimes the smartest thing that you can possibly do is to take a step back and think about what it is it’s going wrong. Acknowledge that not everything is according to plan, and stop watching for a bit and calm down. This season of basketball, no matter how intense and crazy it gets, no matter what happens, it’s not worth your job, your livelihood, your sense of self-worth, or your relationships with other people.
