New Beginnings

Coral Gables has another hot spot on its hands with Seek+Find. The newly appointed Chef Miguel Gomez Fernadez is bringing some fresh vibes and flavors to the restaurant/lounge concept. Chef Fernadez hails from Peru and has worked at Napa Valley Cooking School, San Francisco’s La Mar Cebichería Peruana and Miami’s Pisco y Nazca. The updated menu showcases his international flair and now includes brunch options.

Seek + Find’s vibe-dining concept creates an atmosphere where guests can nosh on delicious bites while enjoying the sounds of an in-house DJ and scheduled live entertainment. The open-air space features plush seating, eye-catching art, and a private upstairs area that is perfect for special events.

I have had my fair share of cocktails, Seek+Find takes classic cocktails and adds their own unique twist. Heating up was recommended to me by the server and I must say he was spot on. It was refreshing with just the right amount of heat.  The Goblet of Fire looked amazing but I figured mixing Gin and Vodka might result in me partying harder than I had intended. I’ll save that combo for someone much braver and younger than I.

Digging In

It’s no secret that I’m a grilled octopus lover. It is the one thing I can’t cook at home so I always have to try it when I’m out. Seek + Find’s grilled octopus is an appetizer but could absolutely be ordered an entree. The portion was the most generous I’ve seen in south Florida  and so far its the best I’ve had to date. It was seasoned perfectly and I literally had to talk myself out of ordering a second helping.

For the main event, I tried the No Name Snapper and the Churrasco. The red snapper came in a creamy spicy sauce with a side of rice. The sauce had just enough kick and you could tell that it had been reduced slowly to ensure its creamy texture. The red snapper was flaky and delicate and really balanced the spiciness of the sauce.

Churrasco is a simple dish and Seek+Find does is beautifully. The steak was juicy, flavorful and had just the right amount of chimichurri sauce on top. The fried kale was light and just melts in your mouth. I’ve never met a mashed potato I did not like and theirs did not disappoint.

Flaming Finale – Seek+Find

For dessert, I opted for the Fire Dome. This chocolate creation has vanilla ice cream profiteroles, berries, coconut cream sauce, and 151 rum. The server bathes the chocolate dome with rum and then sets it ablaze.  No eyebrows were lost during the demonstration and the hot/cold effect adds a really nice element to the dish. The only regret I had was not getting it on video.

Seek+Find has everything you need for a great night out. The menu offers international flavors in an approachable way, great entertainment, and incredible hospitality. Our server was attentive and really made sure that we felt taken care of. Brunch is offered Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. They also have a social hour Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and all the drinks are all 1/2 off.

Seek+Find hosted the Aspiring Gentleman. All opinions are my own.
