The Ultimate Lad Pad: 6 Essentials

There’s a fine art to creating the perfect bachelor pad. Simple, minimal, clean, but practical. Most of all, it must be fun, and inviting. You’re going to want to share the space with your mates, especially when the big game is on. You may even want to invite your date back to the house, so it’s got to be clean and comfortable. There are a few essentials that every guy needs in his lad pad. We’ve created this handy list, so you can tick off the basics! Once you get to the end, let us know if we’ve missed anything!

  1. Entertainment system and TV

Naturally, this is the centrepiece of the bachelor pad. In a family home, it might be a fireplace or a nice coffee table. But in the lad pad, the massive TV takes centre stage. It’s the best way to experience sports in ultra high definition. Invite the guys around, and there’s plenty of room to see the action. You can play music through good speakers, and even hook up the games console.

  1. Wet bar

This is probably your one and only chance to have a real bar in your home, so make the most of it! You don’t need to go crazy here, but a simple wet bar is a fantastic talking point. The guys will love it, and it’s perfect for dinner parties or entertaining. It’s also nice to come home at the end of the day, and have your favourite drink waiting for you on ice. Keep it stocked with spirits, wine, and beer at all times.

  1. A view

The best lad pads come complete with a phenomenal view. The ideal bachelor pad is a penthouse overlooking the city. We understand that’s not always possible, but it’s good to have a goal, right? A view is another fantastic talking point for you and your guests. It’s even better if there’s a balcony. The perfect romantic place to take a date, or simply sit outside with a drink on a summer’s evening.

  1. Great sofas and recliners

If you’ve installed a huge TV and sound system, you need a comfortable place to enjoy the view! A large, comfy sofa is a must, and the traditional recliner is a bachelor pad favorite. Perhaps you could indulge in a heated massage chair, or a recliner with a built in fridge!

  1. Games room

If you’re looking to seriously impress your guests, try installing a games room. In fact, you can hire a games room company to take care of the whole thing for you. They’ll install pinball machines, pool tables, jukeboxes, and poker tables. What a way to spend an evening. You’ll spend a lot of time in here, that’s for sure!

  1. Gym or free weights

Last of all, you could set up a small corner specifically for working out. Set up a mirror so you can watch your form. Invest in some good dumbbells, and a stand to keep it tidy. Install a pull up bar, or buy a full-body workout machine. If you’ve got a spare room for all this, even better!

That’s all there is to it, guys. Have we missed anything from the list?
