I don’t know about you, but I enjoy a nice summer cocktail at the end of a hot day in the middle of the summer. I always enjoy trying out new concoctions while on the town. For those that I really enjoy, I try my hand at making them at home for myself and my friends. Recently I was in Nashville and stopped by the Ole Smoky Distillery in downtown Nashville. Besides the great drinks, they have live music and a great vibe for those wishing to relax and soak in the atmosphere. I tried a few drinks, but the one that caught my eye was the Hound Dog, a peanut butter Whisky, and Banana Pudding Cream Whiskey.
INGREDIENTS
Summer Cocktail
The directions are simple, put some ice in a shaker, add the alcohol, shake, and pour. It could not be more simple to make, and it is delicious. Be careful as both ingredients are 40 proof, so don’t be like me and keep drinking because you can’t taste the alcohol and get a little drunk.
As you will notice in the video, I used Screwball vs. the Ole Smoky Peanut Butter Whiskey. I love Screwball and had it on hand, so that is what I used, but honestly, both the Screwball and Ole Smokey whiskey was very similar, so pick the one that works for you.
Conclusion
This summer cocktail is best served as a shooter vs. in a full cocktail glass. If you prefer to make a cocktail, make sure to drink slowly, as it will hit you faster than you imagine. The drink is very sweet with no alcohol taste, so it goes down smooth, and before you know it, you are drunk. I hope you enjoy the drink.
