The Perfect Accessory: A Perfect Smile

There is an old adage that the perfect smile can warm the heart and open doors. A recent study has proven this true. According to a new smile study, first impressions made on people who have straight and aligned teeth actually range from intelligent to successful.

It is not hard to understand why this is so. There are many catalysts for first impressions, but one that instantly strikes anyone, regardless of stature, age, gender or race, is a smile. As an aspiring gentleman, this is definitely something to take note of. While your credentials are indeed important, the first impression anyone makes of you is an important standpoint of character judgment. You need to make sure that people are making a good perception of you, from start to finish.

So what can you do if you are not gifted with the perfect smile?

  1. Exercise your facial muscles. Seriously. – Face the mirror daily and stretch those facial muscles in a grin. Seeing how your smile looks like can help you be more comfortable with smiling for other people or pictures. Models, politicians, and public-facing people have to practice their smiles. This is not an uncommon task. Also, starting your day off with a smile to yourself doesn’t hurt. If you’re worried about anyone catching you, lock the door.
  2. Get those teeth fixed. Apart from daily oral hygiene, it is important to have a yearly dental visit. It may be expensive, but think of it as an investment. I went this year to get Dental implants on Harley Street, London and it is one of the best investments I have made on myself.
  3. Make the habit of spreading cheer. Smile at everyone you meet for the first time or interact with on a daily basis. Not only is it good practice, it is also a great way of integrating in yourself a naturally warm and pleasing personality that helps magnetize people.

A smile is one accessory you can’t do without, so always have it on you!
