Dispelling misconceptions when it come to women in professional sports

Misconception 1: women are weaker

This misconception is generally based on sheer comparison of women with men; strength alone does not make a natural athlete. Soft skills and strategy play a bigger role; I would say a bigger role than pure physical strength. In any case, many women can outperform men in both strength and stamina drills, so this misconception is proved incorrect.

Misconception 2: women aren’t tough enough

This is a typical misconception, but it is mainly based on simple stereotyping: that it’s the men who are tough and women just don’t have those abilities. Naturally, these guys are proven wrong on several levels, and this is obvious, seeing so many women being on top in their respective sport.

Misconception 3: sports only women do aren’t even sports:

This is based on the fact that there are two genres of sports at the Olympics, which men cannot do: the synchronized swimming and the gymnastics. Of course, anyone says these are not sports, should just be persuaded to spend a “day-in-life’ with some of the toughest gymnasts or synchronized swimming to change their mind.
