3 Cocktails to Put You in the Holiday Spirit!

Looking to spruce up your cocktail list this holiday season?  Look no further! Boutique vodka brand, Our Los Angeles, has concocted three delicious recipes that are sure to make an impression at your next gathering.

Lemon Meringue

1.5 oz Vodka

1 oz limoncello Liqueur

.5 oz lemon juice

.5 oz simple syrup

.25 oz Luxardo maraschino

Mint 5-7 medium-size sprigs

Glass: Coup

Top: lemon meringue

  1. Create a fresh meringue. Separate the whites of two eggs. Whip with an emersion blender until stiff. Slowly add 1/16 a cup of sugar over several minutes while whipping continuously. Finally, add 1/2 oz lemon juice while whipping continuously. Cover and refrigerate.
  2. Combine all ingredients minus the meringue into a shaker tin. Fill with ice, seal, and shake vigorously. Double strain using a hawthorn and fine mesh strainer directly into the coupe glass.
  3. Finally, with a small spoon add meringue to the top. Make sure to get an even layer to prevent a bobbing top. Pull the meringue up with the spoon to make decorative spikes. Using a kitchen torch gently wave the flame over the top for a stylish burnt accent.

Apple Old Fashioned

1.5 oz vodka

1 oz apple juice

.5 oz Giffard’s Madagascar vanilla syrup

.5 oz demerara syrup

.75 oz Cherry Heering

.75 oz lemon juice

Glass: double old-fashioned

Garnish: Dehydrated apple slice, oatmeal cookie crumble

  1. Crumble one dry oatmeal cookie on a small flat plate.
  2. Wipe lemon juice on a few inches of one side of the cocktail glass rim.
  3. Roll the wet side of the glass in the crumble to coat that portion.
  4. Place one large ice cube in the double old-fashioned glass and let chill.
  5. Combine all ingredients into a shaker tin, fill with ice and shake vigorously.
  6. Single strain with a Hawthorne strainer over the ice.
  7. Garnish with an apple slice.

Short Bread Cookie

1.5 oz vodka

1 oz Irish cream

.5 oz Ramazzotti

.5 oz Giffard’s Madagascar vanilla syrup

.75 oz honey

.75 oz lemon juice

Egg whites from one egg

Glass: Goblet or double old fashioned

Garnish: Lemon oil, sprinkles, shortbread cookie

  1. Combine egg whites, lemon juice, honey, and Our LA Vodka into a sealed mixing glass.
  2. Shake vigorously with no ice to emulsify and fluff the cocktail.
  3. Add a light amount of ice about 2/3r’ds of a cup and Ramazotti, Giffard’s Madagascar Vanilla, and Irish Cream to the tin.
  4. Shake vigorously. Fine strain with both hawthorn and a fine-mesh strainer into a goblet or double old-fashioned glass.
  5. Let settle for a couple of minutes until a nice head forms.
  6. Twist a peel of lemon over the top.
  7. Finish with a few cake sprinkles and a shortbread cookie.
