4 Hacks for Keeping Your Beard Looking Amazing

The beard revolution has come into full effect over the past few years. While beards have always held a place in cultures throughout the world, especially with regards to religion, there has been a bit of a revival in the amount of men that we see with them today.

With this revolution has come the need for men to understand how to properly maintain their beards in order to keep them looking sharp and attractive. To help you with this, here is a look at four hacks that you can use to keep your beard looking amazing.

Get a High Quality Trimmer

If you’re looking to keep your beard looking amazing, it will be almost impossible to do so without having a high quality trimmer. Even if you plan on making multiple trips to the barber and leaving it up to a professional, there will still be times when a trimmer is required.

If you don’t have a trimmer and don’t intend to handle at least part of the beard maintenance yourself, you’re going to be spending quite a bit of money making a trip to the barber every time a trim is needed. When you’re looking for trimmers, be sure that you put in the research and go with one that is proven to be effective and high quality.

Use Shampoo and Conditioner

Far too many men make the mistake of washing their beards with either bar soap or a traditional bottle based option. After all, that’s what you use for your body hair right?

The problem with this is that it will eventually dry out your beard. It will also lead to dry skin underneath your beard, which can get pretty itchy and uncomfortable over time.

Instead of using traditional soap, make use of the shampoo and conditioner that you use for your head hair. This will help keep both your beard and the skin underneath it moisturized.

Avoid Altering the Neckline and Cheekline Too Much

As the neckline and cheek line begins to look a bit scraggly, many men make the mistake of cutting far too much of it off. The problem here is that, when shaving the neckline, cutting off too much or shaving too high can make you look heavier than you actually are.

This is also true with the cheek line. When you shave off too much or go too low with the cut, you make it difficult for your beard/mustache combination to mesh together in an attractive way.

While you do want to get rid of stragglers both below the neckline and above the cheek line, your goal should still be to keep it looking as natural as possible.

Understand How Your Beard Grows and Develop a Maintenance Routine

If you’re a beginner to the beard growing game, don’t be afraid to let it grow out for a little while so you can get an idea for the pace at which your beard grows. From there, you can develop a maintenance routine that will better enable you to keep up with trimming while ensuring that your beard is always looking its best.
