There’s something about the classic look of hiking boots with their well-worn looks, complete comfort and tough materials. Now, you can have those classic looks with a range of modern benefits combined in the Ridgemont Heritage Boot – but what does this boot offer to wearers?
Ridgemont Outfitters are known as outdoor specialists who offer their customers a balance of the practical benefits of outdoor boots without losing the element of style and wearability. They know that not every customer is going to hike the nearest mountain trail but do want to walk around the forests or natural landscape near where they live.
To this aim, they produce footwear that can withstand the rigors of outdoor activities while still looking stylish enough for a trip to the local supermarket before you go hiking. These are footwear styles that you can go for a walk with your dog wearing, protecting your feet from that unexpected rain shower. Then you can stop off and meet a friend for coffee without looking like you just came back from scaling Everest.
The Heritage Boot
This was the idea that drove the creation of the Heritage boot, currently only available on Kickstarter. The boot is a great looking hiking boot style that is lightweight and therefore easy to wear anywhere.
The exterior of the boot uses waxed, waterproof full grain leather with heavy duty hardware such as metal lace D-rings to ensure the boots are easy to lace up and the laces don’t fray over time. There is also a gusseted tongue to help keep water out and a waved cotton canvas collar to make the area around the ankle a little more comfortable as well as waterproof.
Wearing the boot
But a good boot is about more than just the looks outside and here the Heritage Boot is also impressive. It uses a fully water proof lining from Hydroguard to protect against water while there is an EVA midsole to make the foot comfortable inside. There is a lugged rubber outsole and heel stabilizer to make the boot steady and even when wearing and is finished with a variflex lasting board.
The design of the boot takes the classic alpine hiking boot and gives it a lightweight finish that means you don’t feel weighed down while wearing them. There are open cell foam insoles that work to comfort the foot but also have anti-microbial properties as well as being non-absorbent – so the sweat from your feet doesn’t permeate into the material.
Wear them anywhere
With the Heritage Boot, Ridgemont have achieved their aim of creating high performance footwear that can withstand being out on the hiking trail but that also looks smart when worn on the street.
The boot is available in three color options – Java brown with red laces, black with orange laces and black with charcoal laces. This means you can choose the look you like to fit in with your favorite clothes while always having the benefits of durable, supportive hiking boots.
